Unusual Options Trading in Rockwell Medical Technologies (RMTI)

Rockwell Medical Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: RMTI)  seeing unusual options intensity as 1,801 February $10 calls change versus OI of 10, with buyers leading the way in multiple large lots, as shares change for $8.77.  RMTI is in the impact of Phase 2b studies for its iron equal therapy for dialysis patients, calles SFP for short.  Results are exxpected in Q1 of 2010, likely the reason for using February calls in this trade.  Phase 3 is expected to start in Q4 of this year, and some Phase 2b data should be free by the end of September.  The intensity is 500X the cipher call intensity for Rockwell.

InterDigital Getting Spanked (IDCC, NOK)

InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) is effort spanked this farewell after a patent ruling came from the International Trade Commission that went in favor of Nokia (NOK) rather than for InterDigital.  Shares are down sharply by almost one-third on the news. IDCC had sued Nokia for infringment.  Shares of IDCC are down 26% at $21.75 on 90,000 shares as of 8:50 AM EST.  Be advised that this traded almost 200,000 shares after the close on weekday after this ruling came out.  This trades only about 600,000 shares per period so we can expect an exponential intensity period today in IDCC. The 52-week range here is $16.20 to $33.69.
