We ran a full detail of the activity in SEQUENOM, Inc. (NASDAQ: SQNM) of the rumors that are driving the stock this morning over at BioHealthInvestor.com. And the volume is already at a full day’s volume after just oiver an hour…. At 10:58 AM EST we have seen 12.8 million shares trade hands on a 12.5% gain to $5.94. Average volume here is only 10.4 million shares, and the 52-week trading range is $2.86 to $29.14. CALL Options are trading through the roof in trading volume as well… We have already seen over 18,000 call option contracts trade hands for the SEPT-2009 expiration alone. As with all stocks moving on rumors, you are on your own. -JON OGG
BJ Services Company (NYSE: BJS) is surging on a deal in the oil patch… Baker Hughes Inc. (NYSE: BHI) is acquiring the company for what is supposed to be a 16% premium around $5.5 billion, but in a deal thgat greatly discounts it last year’s highs. The deal is mostly in stock and the BJ Services holders will have ownership of close to 27% of the new combined operation if the holders approve the merger. BJS shares are up 11% at $17.17 on over 3 million shares of common stock at 8:54 AM EST. At the same time, Baker Hughes is trading down 3.75% at $36.66 on about 800,000 shares. -JON OGG
Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) guidance is driving the tech sector, despite Dell Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL) already giving a lift to the sector…..Right before the open at 9:28 AM EST Intel stock is up 4.5% at $20.35 on most 8 meg shares. Look at peers and competitors:

(AMEX: SVA) is soaring on its report that the Beijing Public Health Bureau has selected Sinovac as ONE OF THE FOUR manufacturers to supply Anflu®, Sinovac’s seasonal influenza vaccine, for the benefit of the citizens of Beijing. The Beijing Public Health Bureau completed the bidding process for the acquire of flu vaccines and corresponding services for 2009 on August 26, 2009. As of 8:45 AM EST we have seen some 770,000 shares trade hands versus an average volume of about 1.2 million shares. We also see a gain of over 17% at $6.89 in the early indications.
