Netease.com Down on Big Block Trade (NTES)
Netease.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTES) looked like it is seeing a lot of action this morning, yet there is a single block trade that has accounted for this. Because of the big gain yesterday, it is hard to know if this is a carryover trade or if that was a real block without digging into it. Based upon the bid/ask, this may be a carryover trade. While it won the rights for World of Warcraft in China, it is said to have illegally begun operating the new system already ahead of the rollover date. At 7:35 AM EST we have seen 497,318 shares trade hands in one single print and the average volume is 2.1 million shares. The last trade was down 2.5% at $43.79. Smith International Inc. (NYSE: SII) has been under-performing and still cannot close above its 200 day EMA, but there is bullish action in the name today with shares at $29.37 as more than 4,000 November $32 calls are bought offer side in a large block trade. Smith is looking to breakout at $30, and shares are beginning to look cheap to peers at 12.4X free cash flow and 11.4X trailing earnings.
UPDATE at 2:20 PM EST: since then around 11,000 more calls have traded at that strike. Shares are now up over 5% at $29.60 on volume of 3.6 million shares versus an average daily volume of 5.1 million shares. Smith (SII) is an oil services company and there has been consolidation in the sector when BJ Services (BJS) entered into a deal with Baker Hughes (BHI).

Delta Petroleum Finds Some Interest After 45% Drop (DPTR)
Delta Petroleum Corp. Calls Active in Airliners (CAL, DAL, LCC, JBLU)
Airliners are seeing massive call option action today with Continental (NYSE: CAL) trading more than 7,700 October $18 calls with shares at $16.80; Delta (NYSE: DAL) trading more than 13,200 October $10 calls with shares at $9.35; and US Air (NYSE: LCC) trading more than 10,600 October $6 calls with shares at $5.18. Furthermore, JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) October $7 calls are trading 10,900 October $7 calls with shares at $6.50. The trades have seen some very large blocks hit, and it may be a “shotgun approach” looking for consolidation in the airline industry, or just a bullish view as oil breaks below $70 a barrel and the airline companies seem to have seen the worst. Most of the airline stocks are at 52 week highs after jet fuel recently hit long time lows, which will improve margins plus the added benefit of a rebounding economy generating more air traffic and better fill rates on planes.

Amgen Study Helps (AMGN)
